Chief Medical Officer of the NM DOH Issues Standing Order
Posted about 11 hours ago
The attached, signed, standing order* is effective September 10, 2025 - August 30, 2026.
This standing order:
- “authorizes health care providers to administer the 2025-2026 COMIRNATY, MNEXSPIKE, SPIKEVAX, and NUVAXOVID COVID-19 vaccines to all persons aged 6 months and older consistent with the policy and procedure in the standing order;
- does not establish the NMDOH or its clinicians as the healthcare provider for the individual.
We encourage you to read the standing order because, as we have said before: as a member of the most trusted profession, you will get questions regardless of your practice base. Please share this with your colleagues.
* You know the NM Board of Nursing is there to protect the public, approves our pre-licensure nursing programs, handles licensure. It also is part of interagency regulatory processes and is part of the Executive branch of our NM state government. To their credit, they provide NMNA with public information promptly when I make requests.
I thank them for providing the attached standing order.
