ADVOCACY IN ACTION: WE KNOW NURSES VOTE SO THIS YEAR CONSIDER VOTING BY MAIL !
Our Secretary of State and legislators are suggesting Absentee Voting for the primary election (June 2, 2020) Because of our current status under "stay at home" to help “flatten the curve” to prevent further spread of the COVID-19 virus, please consider voting by mail this year.
Requesting an absentee ballot is a simple process and as of March 20th the Secretary of State’s Office has opened an online absentee ballot portal to make things even easier. You may request an absentee ballot now through May 28. Here’s all you need to do:
- Go to https://portal.sos.state.nm.us/OVR/WebPages/AbsenteeApplication.aspx
- Follow the Six steps as guided to fill out and submit the form (be sure to have your driver’s license or other state ID number handy).
- Ballots will be mailed out in early May.
- When you fill out the ballot, remember to sign it, then return using the postage-paid envelope provided (or return in person to any election day polling location no later than 7:00 pm on June 2, 2020).
